I want to try and do a smokey eye look for a formal occasion I have coming up and I need help. If you have any instructions or ideas on how to do it, it would be much appreciated. Videos would be perfect too =]How do you create a smokey eye look?
The effect of a smoky eye can be either soft and subtle or mysterious and dramatic.
First uses eyeshadows in a contouring manner.
Second uses dark shades in a more highly concentrated area.
1. Apply black eyeliner pencil to upper and lower inner eye area. Smudge pencil gently into the lashes.
2. Using either a sponge-tip applicator or shadow brush, blend pencil into smoky circle around eye.
3. Using the eyeshadow applicator, softly retrace penciled area (from lashes out-ward)with black eyeshadow. Remember to use as little as possible to get the bast results.
4. Using the eyeshadow brush, into the crease of the eyelid, under and softly outward from the corner. Concentrate the shadow on the outer half of the eye.
5. Use light color powder eyeshadow to highlight browbone and eyelid. you can even sweep a little bit slightly down the side of the nose and under the eye.
6. Curl the lashes and apply black mascara.
7. Finally, fill in the lip with neutral lip color and dust the cheeks with apricot blush.
With the pale lip color softens and effects the overall balance of the face.
hope this can help you :)How do you create a smokey eye look?
One day when you aren't so busy get all your make up out and dry different things with it. You can try a dark brown and a light brown, but like a light light brown. Depending out dark or fair you are.
One trick to get the smokey eyes look is to sleep in with your eye make up one and ta-da! the morning after, you'll have the smokey eyes effect!
But seriously, apply eyeliner (liquid) on your eyelids, just at the joining of lashes. Use dark coloured eyeshadows (dark brown and black are your best bets and never use the metallic ones!) and use a cotton bud and slowly blend the colours!
Experiment and try out now!
take two shadows like a white and a black (or dark gray or silver) put the white from the lash line to the brow bone, then take the dark color and make a ';v'; on the inside and outside of the eye, connect the top of the lines of the ';v'; in the crease of the eye, then go over it all with a soft brush and blend it together and upwards
brown and black eyliners
also brown eyeshadows
and just fool around with those colors.. youll also need a smudger to help you achieve that look, but you can buy eyeliners with smudgers already on them
