eyeliner
Dark eyeliner and a smearing brush. After applying the eyeliner .. smear towards the corner of your eye. You could also apply a tad bit of eyeshadow.
The way I do it is to put black eyeliner on the bottom, like normal but also thin on the top lid then smudge it (on the top lid). Then use a light gray first, then a darker gray ON TOP of the light gray, this softens the harshness of the darkness, and then if you want (i dont always) above (closer to your eyebrow) you put a really light gray. Looks beautiful.

Also make sure when you do the bottom of your lid with eyeliner make sure you get all of it...from corner to corner and maybe even a tiny bit outside the lid (on the bottom)
you should check out QVC.com.. search for Mally Beauty products... she is a celebrity makeup artist and she has a product called Mally Beauty City Chick Smokey Eye Kit and I heard its like the best product u can get and it comes with simple instructions... she's made it so easy for us to get smoky eye...check it out! (they also got reviews... u can read about her products... !! the ratings are so high)
One of my favorite things to do is to use an eyeliner brush and apply a darker eyeshadow as your eyeliner. With the brush you can start out thin and work your way out as much as desired and it also allows you to be very precise with the application. You can also get the brush a little moist with water and it makes the shadow a bit darker and stay on longer.
you can pretty much do the smokey effect with any color but i think it's sexiest with dark shades... black, grey, etc.

i do it really simple and sexy... you can use either eyeshadow or an eyeliner pencil. put it on thick on the bottom and then spread it nicely towards the top of your eyelid.
You can start with basic concealers and eye creams. Then get different shades of eyeshadows you want (you can even get pink or blue). And you'll also need eyeliner pencils and liquid eyeliners. And of course, nobody can forget the good ol' mascara. If you're kinda low on the budget, you can get Maybelline or Revlon......but if money's no object.....You can go for M.A.C.
Eyeliner plays a great role in creating optical illusions to give a new shape and size to your eyes. Gray, black and brown liners can be used to line outer third of upper lids of the close set eyes and then smudged gently. Liner of a lighter shade should be used at the inner side of the eye to add the look of the width between eyes. Small eyes can be opened up by lining them with a dark shade that thickens at the outer edge of the eye. Under lower lash, line with a very light shade such as gold, silver and white. Deep-set eyes can be controlled by lining the upper lash line with pale shade that shimmers while the outer edge of the lower lash should be lined with soft and neutral colors such as gray or taupehttp://facenbodycare.com/Effective_ways_鈥?/a>
