Use an eyeliner and trace a line on your top lid ( Use either brown or black eyeliner-your preference and either liquid or pencil) I prefer liquid. Then take an eyelash curler, hold for 10 seconds, and let go and apply 2 coats of mascara. If you are going for an even more dramatic look, put brown eyeshadow on your eyelids before doing the eyeliner and mascara. You can also put a thin line of eyeliner on your bottom lid. However, if you do all this, it is good if the makeup looks neat, otherwise it can look really bad.How do you get that smoky eye look?
Choose a good concealer. Always choose one shade lighter than your skin tone and completely cover any dark circles. Since the smoky eye is very dark, you want to be certain you have good coverage here.
Draw a line along the upper lashes with a black eye pencil. Start thin at the inner corner of the eye gradually getting thicker as you work your way out.
Draw a thin line as close to the lower lash line as possible. You can stop either one third of the way in or take it all of the way in to the inner corner. It all depends on how dramatic of a look you want. Play around with both and see what looks best on you.
Apply a neutral shade all over your lids right up to the brow. e.g. an almond colour.
Apply a darker shade such as dark brown or gray to the outer corner of your eyelid just up to the crease. Blend in well. Gradually build up to your desired colour.
Use a black kohl pencil to line the top of your lashes and smudge it in with a cotton bud.
To finish the look, apply lots of mascara, but stop before your lashes start to clump. Two coats of a volumizing mascara should be sufficient.
Invest in some good make-up brushes, they help you achieve a more professional look.
When applying the eyeliner/mascara, rest your elbow on a table and look down at the mirror. This helps your hand to stay steady.
Invest in a good kohl black pencil.
A great volumizing mascara that doesn't clump is Covergirl Lashblast. It might be a bit of a bulky tube, but it does everything that it says it will. It comes in waterproof black, and brown- so you can choose the dramatic-alness of your lashes.
If you make a mess, tidy it up with some cotton buds or an old (but sanitized) toothbrush.
Not everyone can pull this look off.
Things You'll Need
2 or 3 eyeshadow colours (preferably beige/black/brown)
black kohl pencil
eyeshadow applicator brush/flat eyeshadow brush
blending brush
cotton buds/Q-tips
mirror
xoxo_LEiHow do you get that smoky eye look?
You use white, gray and black eyeshadow. First you put the white eye shadow underneath your eyebrow (the end part of your eyebrow) then if you want to you can also put the white in between your eyes and nose(hard to find a word for that part). Then you put the gray all over your eyes, after you do that you add on the black where ever you want it to be darker where it makes your eyes look bigger. Then try to blend it in where you are comfortable with the style.well it was hard to explain hope u understood. Good luck.BTW shimmery colors always look better specially with smoky look.
If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smoky eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.
heres how i do mine:
1. Use a light (skin toned) colour all over the eye- lashes to brow.
2. Use a black pencil eyeliner and line above the top lashes- doesn’t matter too much if it‘s a bit messy.
3. Use a cotton bud with a dark eyeshadow on it and go over the eyeliner- making it smudgy.
4. Line under the bottom lashes with a pencil eyeliner and smudge using a clean cotton bud/smudging pen.
5. Use a middle toned eyeshadow (an in-between colour of the ones using) and go over the lid of your eye and just up to the brow bone or just above the crease- which ever you like better.
6. Blend or smudge the middle colour upwards into the lighter colour- just the top edge of the middle colour so you still have colour on your lid.
7. Use mascara- and don’t forget eyelash curler first- apply mascara to the bottom aswell-if you want.
Always start with the medium shade from lash to crease using a flat shadow brush in the middle of the eye lid apply the light shade and sweep it along like a windshield wiper using a fluffy brush after the blending is done apply the dark shade into your socket line use a different fluffy brush and blend blend blend it until it blend all in perfect line the upper and lower lash line with the dark eyeshadow finish with curling your top lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara and keep the rest of your face natural
heres what i got taught:)
first apply pink eye shadow on your eye lid, up to the crease of your eye, dab it on and dont put TOO TOO much!
after, get a nice shimmery brown and start at the corner of your eye.
Move your brush in a circular motion and start blending it into your eyelid and mix it in with the pink
then add a thin line of black eyelinerr right near your lash line on the top :)
hope i helped
Buy two tones of grey, one dark and one light.
Step by Step.
1: use concealer as a base over your eye lids and underneath.
2. Use light grey as a undercover and a outline of what shape you want
3. Then gently and lightly use the darker grey over the top.
BTW, this style mainly suits people with blue eyes, if you have green or brown eyes, don't pile the darker shade on.. you'll end up emo rather than smoky.
Hope i helped. need any more advice on make-up or hair tips message me.
put black eyeliner on the top of your eyelid and the bottom ( but less noticable on the bottom) and then get black/dark blue eyeshadow and just gently go over the top of the eyelid and rub it in glently and then just a tiny bit on the bottom
and then just put volume mascara on the top and a bit on the bottom

Does putting eyeliner inside your eye make your eyes look smaller?
my eyes are not small , but they are not big.
yesterday I heard from my friend that if you apply eyeliner inside the eye, it just ends up looking a lot smaller. so i just wanted to test it and i did only one eye (with the eyeliner inside the eye) , but both of my eyes looked the same and that really confused me...so..
does appliyng eyeliner inside the eye makes it look smaller or not?
thax =)Does putting eyeliner inside your eye make your eyes look smaller?
I used to have the same problem! I told my hairdresser who is also a makeup artist that I don't wear eyeliner because it makes my eyes look small. She said that going all the way in with eyeliner will make eyes smaller. However applying lighter colors wont affect your eyeshape. Instead of black, navy blue, dark green, dark plum, etc... try gray, silver, light blue, light green, light purple etc...Does putting eyeliner inside your eye make your eyes look smaller?
If you apply a white eyeliner under the eye (waterline) then it will usually make your eyes look bigger. Black or dark eyeliner across the whole waterline can make your eye look smaller, but if you apply it just to the middle, it will simply reshape it. It is having it near your tear duct on the lower lashline that makes the eye appear smaller. That said, using it on your upper lashline also opens the eye, so you can balance it out. From experience I would say that people with brown eyes have less of a problem with liner than those with blue, as it compliments rather than narrows the eye.
But remember, everyone is different. If something works for you, who is anyone else to debate it?
Depending on how you apply it, yes. It can make your eyes look smaller. Avoid using black if you have smaller eyes. Instead use a darker gray or dark brown. When applying on the top lid make to use a THIN line, you can achieve this with liquid liners or a freshly sharpened pencil liner. The closer you can get to the eyelash line the better, it looks more natural that way. If you apply it too thick then your eyes will definitely appear smaller. The same goes for the bottom of the eye. Don't cake it under the lashes, try to cover the lash area with a thin line as above. This will make your eyes appear wider.
you risk getting an infection doing this.
it does make your eye smaller .
it gives a very old look..and it's dated.
and makes a person's eyes look '; tough and hard';
all not attractive.
when you line your eyes :
soften all edges to make it look smokey.
if your eyes are set closer togther..do not line all the way around.
only line the top and 1/4 on the bottom..you want to give the appearance of wider large eyes.
i dont think it makes the eys look smaller, it might depend on the shape of the eyes (not the size).
Maybe if you did chunky ticks on th eend it looks nicer - or thin ones. i theink that helps =S
hope i helped!

If you apply WHITE liner in the inside it looks bigger
if you dont have big eyes, like me lots of liner can and will take away from your eyes and close them in.
If u apply white eyeline inside it looks bigger
if it's say BlacK then it makes em look smaller
If u apply eyeliner outside or on top it also looks bigger!
well it depends on the color, black/dark eye liner tends to make them look smaller, and lighter colors like white make them look bigger...
no..it makes it look bigger as far as i know..
hope not cuz i do it everyday lol
with some people
nope not at all ....but u can try if it does u know for good!gray hair

How should the whitish part of my cats eye look like?should it be pure white or should i see veiny red lines?
i havent looked before and now when i just did it peared abit veiny.i plan to take her to the vet for other things but i have to save bit of money cos last time it cost more than i expected.so i was wondering if i should be worried.thanksHow should the whitish part of my cats eye look like?should it be pure white or should i see veiny red lines?
Look at your eyes. All creatures have red lines in the white part of their eyes. But if there are more than a few the eyes could be dry or have been rubbed a little too hard or too much. This usually happens because of dry eye syndrome or allergies. Just like us the pollen and weather will effect a cat's eyes. You did not say if the cat is an outdoor cat, but if so allergies the likely cause: indoors, dry eye.How should the whitish part of my cats eye look like?should it be pure white or should i see veiny red lines?
Probably it's normal, just let it get some sleep, it's probably tired.

How do you get that smokey eye look?
What do I have to do to get it on my eyes...and what is good to use, like what products etc...try and be reasonably priced! How do you get that smokey eye look?
Smoky eyes have been a big style for quite awhile and there's no sign this particular trend is dying. Here we show you step-by-step instructions on how to get the perfect smoky eye.
The key to the perfect smoky eye is proper blending. You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue and peach base with green hue.
Prep the lid. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base (also called ';primer';). I prefer to dab at bit of MAC's 'paint' on lids before shadow application. Or try Fresh Freshface Perfecting Eye Primer.
Apply eyeliner.
Blend in color on bottom lashes For color on the bottom (a key smoky eye look) you'll want a lighter eyeliner. The key is to ';smudge it.'; You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.
Apply light base color Again, the key to a smoky eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone. I love Stila's whipped eye shadows $20. The moist ';mousse'; consistency seems to stay on forever. My favorite colors are taupe and pearl.
Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Now that you have the base and eyeliner on, it's time to get the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease.
Doublecheck your work Make sure eyes match and blend color with a Q-tip if need be.
Finish with several coats of volumizing mascara. Tried and true mascaras (featured in ';Elle'; magazine's March 2006 issue) include DiorShow Mascara %26amp; L'Oreal Paris Volume Shocking Mascara. Elle's writer says they are the best volumizers she's tried.
Tips:
Remember to keep lips nude. When applying strong makeup (like smoky eyes or red lips) put the focus on either eyes or lips, never both. (Think Angelina Jolie: She either plays up her huge eyes or her huge lips, never both. If she did, she'd look like a clown).
For a bit of fun, try a blue or purple mascara. It will make blue eyes ';pop.';
Liner doesn't have to come in pencil form. Makeup experts know eyeshadows make some of the best eyeliners. To do this take an eyeliner brush (available at Sephora, MAC or any dept store), wet it, then dab wet brush into the dark shadow. This allows for a deep, precise line. You can also use the dark shadows without wetting brush first. Either way, eyeliner is necessary for smoky eye.
This season go jewel-toned (blue is great for you blue-eyed girls) and keep your eyes smoky but stay away from dark browns and black. Instead, go for a deep purple, a gold-brown or any of the many vibrant colors in this year.
What You Need:
Eye primer (you don't need it, but it's great for keeping shadow in place)
2 Shadows: One light, one darker
Eyeliner
Makeup brushes
Mascara
How do you get that smokey eye look?
You should always only play up one feature (eyes or lips, not both), then why not throw a great gloss on your pout and make your eyes look hot by using these great smokey eyes makeup tips?
Here we will give you a quick and very easy guide to creating a great smoky look, without having to be an expert makeup artist. Plus, if your budget is virtually non-existent, we will help remedy this by supplying tips for affordable color as well as multi-use products.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 6-7 Minutes
Here's How:
Apply your other makeup first. Skip adding concealer under your eyes though, since eyeshadow “fallout” will get trapped there and make your eyes look dark. Instead, apply your concealer after you finish your eyes. Also, make sure you get your blush in place before starting your eyes. When you have blush on your cheeks, it helps you to not overly makeup your eye area.
Prime your eye lids. You should set a good base for the eyeshadow to lie on, so prime your eye lids by using an eyeshadow base, or in order to save money you can use an oil-free concealer or foundation. After applying the primer, allow it to dry before beginning your shadow.
Apply a neutral colored base shadow. This should be applied over your entire eye lid, from lash to brow bone. Choose a good neutral beige that will basically blend in well. If possible, find one with a shimmer, not a glitter.
Line your eyes. Using a black eye pencil, line the entire eye, upper lid and lower lash line. Get as close to your lashes as possible, and use your fingertip to move your lid around in order to get the liner into your lashline.
Soften the liner. By using a small eyeshadow brush, or in a pinch you can use a Q-tip, gently go over the liner to help soften the effect.
Apply black eyeshadow. Use either the sponge-tipped applicator that comes with eyeshadow, or a Q-tip, to apply black powder eyeshadow over the now softened eyeliner. Only do the top lid for now, since you have not applied your under eye concealer yet. Once you apply the eyeshadow, use the applicator, the Q-tip, or your finger to gently smudge the shadow.
Apply your general shadow. You will need to choose a nice brown or gray shadow to apply to your eyelid area. If you can’t decide, go for one that is a combination of both, such as Max Factor MAXeye in Connoisseur(Compare Prices). You should apply the color with either the applicator or an eyeshadow brush, starting at the lash line and going to the crease of your lid, and ending directly under your brow bone. The basic effect will look like an oval when you close your eye, more or less.
Sweep under your eyes. Use a powder brush, or cotton balls, to sweep away any eyeshadow from under your eye area. With this done, you can apply your concealer and powder.
Apply black shadow to bottom. Just as in step 6, apply a black powder shadow to the softened eye liner, with an applicator or Q-tip, then smudge.
Encircle your eye with the general shadow. Using the shadow you selected for step 7, gently and gradually blend the eyeshadow into a circle around your eye area. This means applying and smudging the shadow under the eyes as well. Just make sure not to go too far under the eye or you will get the raccoon effect.
Coat your lashes with black mascara. Try using a good black mascara, such as Maybelline Colossal Mascara in Black, and make sure to apply 2-3 coats on top and at least 2 on bottom.
Check your work. Once your mascara is dried, check your work and blend any areas that stand out. Now is also a good time to gently sweep your powder brush, or cotton
